Education

Christian Education and Spiritual Formation

The educational ministry at First Baptist seeks to equip people to carry out our mission statement: “Caring people sharing God’s love.” We help people grow on their Christian journey so that they may know more fully the depths of God’s love and grow to be more loving as a result.

Sunday School

Sunday School is one of the cornerstones of First Baptist’s educational ministry. It begins each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. A variety of classes are available for you to choose the type of group you will enjoy. Our Greeters will meet you at the doors to help you locate the class that is right for you.

Wednesday Evening Bible Studies

Wednesday evening Bible studies provide an opportunity for adults in our community to study Scripture in a more in-depth manner. These Bible studies often are surrounding a particular theme or book in the Bible. Wednesday night gatherings begin at 5:00 p.m. for dinner and Bible study begins at 6:00 p.m.

Exploration Groups

Throughout the year, Exploration Groups offer opportunities to explore your faith in different, creative ways.  Groups will meet for several weeks in a given semester and focus on book studies or special interest topics. Check the weekly newsletter for more information on current study group times and locations.

Religious Studies Institute

The Religious Studies Institute is also an important educational ministry of First Baptist that offers community members seminary-like discussions and studies. Educators from different universities and faith communities are often called upon to facilitate these discussions.
